چکیده

The activities developed by the Centre Spatial de Liège in the field of microgravity between 1994 and 2000 have been dedicated to three main domains: the flight of the Space Bio Separation – RAMSES instrument and the subsequent data exploitation and scientific return, the implementation study of a diagnosis tool for Life Science on board ISS and finally the start of the preparation phase for CdTe growth on board the ISS. Preflight adaptation training for spatial orientation and space motion sickness.

Two part-task preflight adaptation trainers (PATs) are being developed at the NASA Johnson Space Center to preadapt astronauts to novel sensory stimulus conditions similar to those present in microgravity to facilitate adaptation to microgravity and readaptation to Earth. This activity is a major component of a general effort to develop countermeasures aimed at minimizing sensory and sensorimot...

پاسخ انقباضی آئورت سینه‌ای به بی‌وزنی پاهای عقبی در موش صحرایی

Background: Hindlimb Unloading (HLU) is used to simulate microgravity in rats and has been shown to decrease contractile response in the abdominal aorta. The aim of present study was to investigate the contractile responses of smooth muscle of thoracic aorta following acute and chronic microgravity treatment.  Methods: Male adult rats (Wistar) were subjected to HLU for 3 and 20 days t...

Case study Malaysia: Spatial water quality assessment of Juru, Kuantan and Johor River Basins using environmetric techniques

This study investigates spatial water quality assessment of selected river basins in the three different states in Malaysia. Environmetric techniques namely, cluster analysis (CA), principal component analysis (PCA), and discriminant analysis (DA), were applied to study the spatial variations of the most significant water quality variables in order to determine the origin of pollution sources ...

Evaluation of camel milk as an extender for short-term storage of ram semen at 15°C

The purpose of the present study was to assess the effect of modified camel milk (MCAM) and skim cow milk (SCOM) on semen quality of INRA180 and Boujaâd ram breeds, stored at 15°C for up to 24 hours. Semen samples were collected from eleven mature rams (6 from INRA180 and 5 from Boujaâd rams) and extended in SCOM vs MCAM, to reach a final concentration of 0.8×109 spermatozoa/mL, and stored at 1...

The Role of Microgravity in Cancer: A Dual-edge Sword

Since human beings could travel beyond the earth atmosphere, scientists started to investigate the effect of microgravity on human cells. Microgravity has different effects on normal and cancer cells, but the related mechanisms are not well-known till now. The aim of the present review is to focus on the consequences of exposing the cancer cells to reduced gravity. Some cancer cells organize th...
